In short, this place has THE best cheeseburger I've ever had in my life. What to order: Cheeseburger, medium (or medium rare). Baked Potato with everything (inc. mushrooms). While you wait, have a monsoon or two.... (more)

Went to get a table ten minutes before Last Call, stood there for ten minutes until the name-taker, who had been nowhere to be found, stopped drinking and flirting with girls at the bar came over to our party and told us... (more)

We last ate at Port of Call on August 1, 2008. We ordered a Filet Mignon to split. It came with a nice salad with Italian Dressing, two fresh buns, a potato with just butter ( as we requested) and a filet, perfectly done as... (more)

As a local dive on the edge of the Quarter, Port of Call is a gem. It has a dark and damp atmosphere with a washed up sailor motif. The decor and menu has changed little over the years. Contrary to what might be expected from... (more)

This place is a must everytime we are in the city. There is a terrible wait that is well worth it! The burgers will leave you craving more for weeks and the Monsoon, well all I can say is you only need one and it is delish!... (more)

Good place for a date. May have to wait 15-20 minutes or pull up to the bar. Burgers have gotten smaller but they still are filling alongside salad or potato, but don't look for french fries. Enough juice w/ burgers to... (more)

Port of Call has what I would consider to be the best burgers anywhere. The menu has only about 8 items, but they stick to what they know best--burgers and steaks. I always make a point to stop by at least once when I am in... (more)

I attempted to eat here 2 months ago and when my plate was placed in front of me a Cucaracha crawled out of my salad onto the table. I know we have our fair share of creepy crawlers down here, but c'mon I don't think anyone... (more)

Even if you have to wait outside in the rain, do it. The burger's worth it. They have a whole menu, but I find it hard to believe anyone ever gets anything but hamburgers. (more)

There's nothing else I can say that hasn't already been said here. I can just testify that it is the best burger you will ever eat! Period. Wash it down with a Monsoon and you will have had the Port of Call experience.... (more)

My husband used to tell me about this great place in NOLA that had the best burgers in the world. I was thinking "it's a burger, give me a break." That was until I actually ate there and now I now what he means. I now tell... (more)

The monsoons, like NOLA's other killer drinks (hand grenades, hurricanes), will sneak up on you! If you're a lightweight drinker, be warned, one of these is all you need. Who knows what's in it, and who cares? It does... (more)

This place is always dark, even if it's the middle of the day. A cheeseburger, loaded potato and monsoon are also a requirement, regardless of the time of day you go there. I've been there at noon, 2 pm, dinner time, and... (more)

We went to this place a few years ago and it is still on my mind. One of those legendary haunts that when you are in town, you MUST venture to. We sat at the bar, drank monsoons and ate ourselves into oblivion... one of the... (more)

The restaurant itself seats maybe 60 people plus 15 around the bar area, so a wait is unavoidable. However, once you bit into a burger, you discover it's worth it. Coming from the midwest where beef is plentiful, these... (more)

Port of Call's specialty is hands down the best burger in all of New Orleans. These burgers are huge and juicy, and come dressed on the side along with a large baked potato. The wait is often long and there are no... (more)
