Message from the Business
They are Utah's Original Steakhouse, located on the historic "fruit way" portion of Hwy 89 in Perry, Utah. Maddox has been in business at this location since 1949.
Maddox Ranch House is a family-style restaurant that serves generous portions of American-style fine foods at popular prices. We are Utah's original steakhouse with a reputation for the world's finest beef. Our steaks are truly satisfying, as is our unique skinless famous fried chicken. We feature many other unique, award-winning recipes that include turkey steak, shrimp steak and all-natural bison. We offer an outstanding variety of various meat and potato recipes, including roast beef and chicken fried steak. We love children and offer a satisfying kids menu that is sure to please. Reservations are accepted and recommended but we never turn folks away.

on Citysearch May 22, 2009All the locals rave about this place. I gave it a try and found the steaks to be very tough, overcooked and no flavor at all. (more)

on Citysearch Feb 13, 2009This place is worth the travel. If you have never been here it is a dinning treat. I have been here many times and I am not going to sit here and tell you that you will have the best experience no matter what. I have found that... (more)

on Citysearch Sep 16, 2008Glorified roadhouse grub. Forgotten parts of the order, when it was not even busy. Taste and quality that does not justify the price. Maybe for the 'old time' feel but not for the food.... (more)

on Citysearch Aug 08, 2008The rolls ARE good. The wait is too long. The cuts of meat are ok, but not great. The fried chicken is not bad. For me the value is too low to detour off the freeway. (more)

on Citysearch Jul 08, 2008The rolls are to die for, everyone smuggles them home. Ignore the pasta it's subpar. The soups are good, the salads are standard but you are going for the steak which couldn't get any better. It's worth the drive. When... (more)

on Citysearch Apr 07, 2008Maddox is a HUGE local favorite for some good reasons. The #1 draw for most I know is the rolls -they are fabulous, and they keep comin' with raspberry butter as long as you say you want more. Another specialty is the... (more)

on Citysearch Nov 13, 2007Maddox, was, well, an experience. The food is VERY overpriced and nothing out of the ordinary. The menu is extremely limited, and the food is nothing to rave about. We did love the rolls, but it stopped there. If you're... (more)

on Citysearch Nov 01, 2007I love the Maddox eating experience! Starting with the Rolls and Cornbread, then right on through to the Main Course. That is usually the Fried Chicken for me. A few months ago, me and my wife went to Maddox for our... (more)

on Citysearch Jun 17, 2007WOW! This is the restaurant of "down home cookin". Everything from cream soda, root beer, soups, dessert, and rolls... it's all home made and fresh each day! My personal favorite is the tender flavorful prime rib... (more)

on Citysearch Nov 28, 2006This was my second visit, I said after the first, I would never go back. I should of listened to myself and not all the raving reviews. My first visit I ordered the prime rib and requested it rare, I was told it only comes... (more)

on Citysearch Nov 14, 2006I love this place. I have been eating here a couple times a year for the last five years. I agree with some of the other reviews that the steaks are not the best but that is not what you go to madoxx for. Madoxx has the best... (more)

on Citysearch Sep 09, 2006Madoxx may have been the "original steakhouse", but it isn't something I would make a special trip to drive to. It is mostly a great place for "dirt farmers" who don't know what really good food is all about. (i.e. I... (more)

on Citysearch Aug 24, 2006This place has just the best steaks, chicken and chicken fried steaks ever. The soups have always been good, but you can skip the salad or "seafood" tofu cocktail. The pies are very tasty, and while the atmosphere has a... (more)

on Citysearch Jan 17, 2006This is, by far, the worst restaurant I've ever been to. The may be good, but the service is nothing more than awful. And forget about making reservations. The last reservation I made, I ended up waiting for over 45... (more)

on Citysearch Dec 04, 2005I have been to Maddox several times and have always been extremely unimpressed. About 75% of the menu is deep-fried and nothing tastes good (apart from their rolls which are fairly descent). The last time I went we had... (more)

on Citysearch Jun 27, 2005Went there for the first time on saturday. The place was busy, but we were seated within 5 minutes. My wife and I both had their kwik-lunchs. I had the chicken and my wife had the beef. I don't see how anyone can say the... (more)
